Can we be honest about something?
Can we dispense of the Sunday school answers and not run from the truth?
Can we stop denying something?
Can we stop avoiding something because we are embarrassed or ashamed?
Can we not sugar coat something?
What is this something? (I bet you guessed it from the title of this blog post.) Reading the Bible is hard.
There. I said it. I went there.
Who are we kidding when we say otherwise? Or when we do not say this truth at all?
Can we stop burying our heads in the sand and be honest with ourselves about this? And far more importantly, with God?
Can we stop and take a few minutes and journal about this: Reading the Bible is hard.
