LUKE 1

LUKE 1: AN INTRODUCTION
Today is the 1st of 1,825 days of journaling through the Bible in 5 years or so.
It’s only fitting that I am starting to read, pray, and journal through the Bible on the first day of Advent 2022. This will certainly make this starting point unforgettable. Talk about a time of great meaning.
Since it is the Advent and Christmas Season, that’s why I decided to begin with the first book of the Bible being Luke.
Luke is the longest of the four Gospels and is mostly in chronological order, which is why I’ve decided to start here.
Luke is the writer of this book, this Gospel, and he wasn’t one of the disciples of Jesus Christ.
He lived during the time of Paul and Paul called Luke his beloved physician, his loved doctor, and his dear friend in Colossians 4:14, depending on the version (translation) of the Bible you read.
This is a note I copied from my Bible this morning:     LUKE 1:   //  Nov/03, 15, 26/2022: (Luke 1:6; 1:32; 1:33; 1:35; 50, 52; 77; 78; 79).

LUKE 1:1-4
This is the introduction to the book and Gospel of Luke.
These verses also tell why Luke wrote this book and how he did so.
This introduction also describes how many set forth to write the stories about what Jesus did. (See John 21:25.)

LUKE 1 FOCUS VERSES

LUKE 1:6
Summary: Zechariah and Elizabeth were righteous according to God since they were faultless and did what the Word said.
I think this is what we all hope for. We want God to forgive us, and we want to do what the Bible says.
The only way we can do what the Bible says is to read the Bible and know what it says.
We know that through Jesus, when we believe in him, we are made righteous. Thank You for this.
God, help us to be in the Bible, meditate on it day and night, and do what it says. Help this be our main aim and focus on a moment by moment basis.

LUKE 1:32
The angel Gabriel told Mary her son Jesus (see Luke 1:26 and 1:31) will be great and Jesus will be called the Son of the Most High.
What does “Most High” mean? What’s its importance?
Furthermore, Jesus would be given the throne of his ancestor, David.
What’s significant about that?
For more on his family tree, see Matthew 1. See Matthew 1:1 in particular.

LUKE 1:33
Jesus will forever reign over the house of Jacob.
There will be no end of His reign or kingdom.
The reign of Jesus is for eternity and will never end.
There is peace knowing that He reigns.
There is also peace knowing His reign never ends and will always be.
This gives consistency in a world where everything is in turmoil and nothing of this world lasts.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Something big was happening.
God was preparing three parents for the birth of Jesus.
And the child of Zechariah and Elizabeth (John the Baptist) would be preparing the world for Jesus.
This chapter also tells who Jesus was.
God was preparing people and the world for the Messiah.

SD PERSONAL JOURNALING AS I DID LUKE 1
I keep getting interrupted as I am trying to do Luke 1. Figures. This isn’t surprising, though. It’s meant to upset me and get me to stop doing this. I will not rise to the bait of that trap.
Also, I am trying to write the introductory material for this JTTBI1825 series, and this takes time.

DATES JOURNALED
~ November, 27, 2022, Sun.

NOTE ABOUT FORMAT
I have no idea why this blog post has formatted the way it is and I cannot figure out how to fix it. Sorry about that.

Stay tuned. More will be added here.
